UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin commented on the financial landscape of European football and warned the clubs to remain careful despite responsible player wage management.
He said: “While most clubs are responsible for the management of the gaming lives, other costs rose quickly and exert the company margins more than ever. The clubs have to remain vigilant, as considerable work still has to be done in order to restore the pre -pandemic profitability. “
In 2023, a record investment in stadiums all over Europe was emphasized across Europe in 2023, which exceeds the previous high of € 1.5 billion in 2019 before pandemic.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Everton and PSG each invested more than EUR 100 million in stadium projects, while 36 clubs granted at least EUR 10 million for stadium improvements – the number of the previous year.
These long -term investments continued until 2024. Early financial reports showed sustainable infrastructure expenditure because the clubs want to maximize the income on the match day.
