This shift testifies to the commitment of the EU and its Member States alongside Morocco to accompany the reconstruction and revival of the disaster areas, according to a press release from the diplomatic representation. During this visit to the governor of El Haouz, the ambassador exchanged, before he went from Achbarou to meet the women of the carpet weaving cooperative, implemented the beneficiaries of a literacy program carried out by the High Atlas Foundation with the support of the EU.
The visit includes a trip to the village of Tinmel, where he will discover the reconstruction of the housing construction implemented by the residents in colloquial language, with the support of the Turath Association and the social sociƩtƩ Infra Ventures (Spanish cooperation) financed by AECID. Finally, the ambassador in the 12th century mosque will stop by Tinmel, which was very damaged by the earthquake and a diagnostic study on the reconstruction and maintenance work of Italy was supported.
The EU, which remind us, accompanied Moroccoās efforts to reconstruct areas that are affected by the earthquake. It provided financial support of 2.4 billion DH (225 million euros), which were provided for the renovation of living space, access to essential public services and economic recovery.
