Soundbars are categorized based on the frequency range they fall into. Mid-range soundbars are intended for dialogue, background music and sound effects. If these things are at the top of your priority list, you’ve come to the right place Bose Smart Soundbar 550which is currently the case $199 (originally $499) at Walmart. This is the lowest price I’ve seen after checking Price tracking tools.
Bose is known for its great audio products, but not its design. This soundbar is a boring rectangle measuring 4.09 x 27.34 x 2.21 inches and weighs almost seven pounds, but all the magic happens with the sound, not the looks. This soundbar features Dolby Atmos and Bose’s TrueSpace technology, which mixes all the audio into an immersive multi-channel experience. This means the dialogue will pop up and you’ll hear the action unfold around you.
Bose can achieve this with its five sound transducers, two of which are upward-facing and work together to reflect sound off your walls and ceiling to mimic surround sound (as much as a single soundbar can do).
You can connect it to Wi-Fi to use the built-in music and radio services, or you can connect your phone via Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast or Spotify Connect. It also works as a smart speaker with voice control as it is compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
For $199, you’ll be hard-pressed to find another soundbar of this quality and this many features. This is a great price for a high-end soundbar. If you want to Hear your TV dialogues better or just want to buy a soundbar on a budget, the Bose Smart Soundbar 550 is a good choice right now.
