Doha – The Arabic Council of the Arab League officially extended its economic support for Morocco for the 2030 FIFA World Championship during its 115th session on Wednesday.
The Council passed a resolution in which all Member States were asked to support Morocco’s efforts in aligning the global Sporting event In addition to Spain and Portugal.
In addition to the preparations of the World Cup, the council’s agenda comprised several important economic initiatives. The members checked the implementation of previous resolutions from the 114th session and discussed the activities of the general secretariat between the meetings.
The economic and social dossier for the 34th ordinary summit in Baghdad was also shown in the discussions and in the advice on the development needs of Yemen, the Arab free trade zone and the developments of the customs union.
The Moroccan delegation in the meeting was accompanied by Mohamed Ait Ouali, Morocco’s ambassador in Cairo and the constant representative of the Arab league, accompanied by representatives of the Ministries for Economics and Finance as well as industry and trade.
The commitment of the Arab league joins a number of regional notes. In December 2024 the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Muhammad al-Budaiwi, announced The extensive support of the Gulf States gives during his Rabat visit.
“The Gollanders will be full for this event to deliver all forms of support and cooperation,” said Al-Budaiwi during a joint press conference with the Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
Recently in a meeting kept On February 10, the Moroccan Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit and his Spanish counterpart Fernando Grande-Marlaska discussed security preparations for the tournament in Madrid.
Both officials increased the importance of cooperation between the co-moderator nations to ensure the success of the event.
