Surgent Studios teams up with Pocketpair for 2025 horror game

Surgent Studiosthe manufacturer of Tales of Kenzera: Zauis working with Pocketpair Publishing, the newly founded publishing arm of Pocketpair (PalworldCraftopia) to develop a horror game for release in 2025.

This exciting new game, developed by Surgent Studios, will not be set in the Tales of Kenzera universe, the companies said.

Abubakar Salim, CEO of Surgent Studios, said in a statement: “Both Surgent and Pocketpair are well versed in risk-taking. We noticed a pattern in the entertainment industry and Pocketpair gave us the opportunity to create a horror game about it. It will be short and strange and we think players will be interested in what we have to say.”

Surgent Studios is working on a horror game for 2025.

He said the company is still in serious discussions about more projects in the Tales of Kenzera universe, but this will be a standalone piece, “a milestone between where we come from and where we’re going.”

John Buckley, head of Pocketpair Publishing, said in a statement: “As the gaming industry continues to grow, more and more games are struggling to get funded or greenlit.” We think that’s a real shame because there are so many incredible developers and Ideas that just need a little help to become incredible games.”

He said Pocketpair was “immediately intrigued by Abubakar’s creative vision for a horror game on a subject he is uniquely qualified to explore.” Pocketpair Publishing’s ultimate goal is to find developers with a true passion for games and give them the opportunity to create fun, new experiences for gamers around the world.”

The game is scheduled to be released later this year.
