Surf/ per Taghazout Bay QS 3,000: Couzinet and Veselko Shine, Boukhiam Finalist


The Frenchman Jorgann Couzinet with men and the Portuguese Francisca Veseelko in women who won on Thursday, per Taghazout Bay, test of the qualifying Series Circuit (QS) 3,000 of the World Surf League (WSL), in waves of 1 to 1.2 m in Anchor Point. The Moroccan surfer Ramzi Boukhiam and the Spanish of Basque origin Janire Gonzalez Etxabarri Finalists.

The men’s finals kept all promises among the surf. Two of the most suitable athletes in the competition, the championship tour and the local favorite Ramzi Boukhiam and the former finalist in Taghazout Jorgann Couzinet, offered the public a breathtaking confrontation and undoubtedly the best series of competition. Couzinet will ultimately dominate this accuracy through a total of 19.17 points (of 20 possible) or only 0.17 points. Thanks to this victory, the Frenchman, who is occupied in 6th place in the WSL Europe QS classification, takes over and approaches the qualification for the Challenger series.

Veselko collected 16.84 points among women to win. She climbs into the classification in her search for requirements for the Challenger series for the 2nd place. Note that the next and last stage of the qualification series of the WSL Europe will take place in Portugal from April 15th to 19th, 2025 in the Caparica Surf. Three QS events take place one after the other on the WSL Africa website.
