Wigan Warriors achieved eight attempts in a 48:24 route from Warrington Wolves in a historic Super League game in the Allegian Stadium in Las Vegas.
After over 50,000 fans had summarized the event as NRL, Super League and International Women’s Rugby League, it was Warrington and Wigan who started the party, but the Warriors all had fun, attempts by Tyler Dupree, Abbas Miski, Bevan French and Harry Smith and four conversions of Adam Keigran.
Wigan recorded in the second half, where in the first, silky attempts by Jai Field, Jake Wardle, Luke Thompson and Liam Marshall, continued their advantage as a brilliance of Keighran with the boot.
Warrington enjoyed a late purple patch and managed to string back with consolation from Arron Lindop, James Harrison and Matt Budy, as well as a sensational final M-Mess-100 meter effort by Matty Ashton, but it was too late for Sam Burgess’ side that landed on the world’s wounds.
Wigan show ruthless attack when Warrington Vegas can answer with questions
Wigan and Warrington were in Las Vegas to write for the Super League history, and in the opening district it looked close to a close competition with both sides when Toby King and Marshall were refused.
From then on, however, everything was Wigan, and Dupree immediately worked out of the bank and wrote his own script as the nephew of the Super Bowl winner Billy Joe Dupree (Dallas Cowboys in 1978) when he opened the goals in Las Vegas in the 17th minute.
This increase in Wigan, which made Miski possible to show some acrobatic skills in the corner, before Junior continued to cause chaos with its huge runs, and French when Wigan raised with only 10 minutes.
With the support of her loud fans, Wigan was not yet finished and Smith rounded off her goals in the first half when he ended a silky French passport. Keighran converted again when Warrington Grouped very quickly.
The fatal combination of field and French then came to the fore in the second half, the former went in the 45th minute after combining with Marshall before French broke, fed his full -back and sent Wardle into the corner.
Just a few minutes later it was Thompson who overlooked a brilliant French passport and strengthened a 42-0 lead for the warriors.
Warrington then found her moment with the game when Harrison and fragrance met in a quick episode, but their joy ended quickly when Marshall finally tried his attempt when he ran in the corner in the 77th minute.
The game then ended with a sensational section in full length of Ashton – the Wolves winger, who even lost his boot – despite the dazzling end of Warrington, it was Wigans night on the Big Las Vegas stage.
PEET: I knew that we would appear on the big stage | Burgess: We weren’t ready to do the hard stuff
Wigan Warrior’s head coach Matt Peet an Sky Sports:
“I think both teams tried to play an open rugby and both defendments were tested. It was important for a lot of Scramble defense and I am really proud of performance.
“This group increases to the big occasion and I was confident all week that we would appear.”
Warrington Warves head coach Sam Burgess to Sky Sports:
“I was definitely disappointed. We missed a chance for a big stage at a big moment.
“We weren’t ready to do the hard stuff at the end of the first half and the game cost us. Forty -eight points are really disappointing.
“It is the first time in my time in the club that we were not yet involved. It is a new one that I have to find out.”
