‘Summer House’ star Paige DeSorbo reveals she was in an abusive relationship when she was 19!
Garden house star Paige DeSorbo She doesn’t hold back as she talks about her difficult past relationships and how they completely changed her approach to love.
On her Giggly Squad podcast, Paige recounted a physically and mentally abusive relationship she experienced when she was 19 or 20, which she says changed the course of her twenties.
“I probably became the most insecure when I was 19 or 20. I dated a physically and mentally abusive man, and that changed my entire dating trajectory in my 20s.” Paige revealed.
“And then I was looking for chaos, and I was looking for pure…adrenaline and emotion, and I thought: This is so much fun and this is so crazy.” Paige admitted that her experience led her into a cycle of unhealthy relationships, each slightly better than the last, but still harmful.
“I just fulfilled that pattern until I was 26… (I) was dating someone (and I was like,) ‘Okay, this is normal.’ And I was like, ‘No… I can’t do that either,'” she continued. “And that’s why it’s hard not to look at yourself as a girl and think: Maybe I’m the problem.”
When I think about that time in her life, Paige said she eventually realized the toxic relationships weren’t her fault.
“I just wallowed in certain people who ended up being ‘shitty,'” she shared, adding that she felt “brainwashed” by the abuse she suffered in her younger years.
Now 32, Paige is navigating another chapter of her life after her recent breakup Southern charm star Craig Conover. The couple who started dating when Paige was 29 and announced their separation after three years together.
As Paige As she moves forward, she uses her past experiences as a guide to healthier relationships and personal growth. Fans will no doubt watch as she embarks on this new chapter of her life.
