Street accidents claim 19 life in Morocco’s urban areas last week

Rabat – nineteen people were killed and 3,002 injured, 105 of them seriously in the 2,169 street accidents, which took place in urban areas from March 24th to 30th, according to the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN).

These accidents were mainly due to the inattentiveness of the drivers, tracing the pedestrian’s unpleasant, no priority to keep the failure to keep a secure distance, and the speed exceeding pointed out in a press release.

With regard to the control and suppression of traffic offenses, the security services showed 45,160 tickets, 8,706 reports that were presented to the public prosecutor, while 36,454 transaction losses were raised to 7.9 million dirhams in accordance with the same source.

The DGSN also reported the pollution of 4,998 vehicles, the withdrawal of 8,706 driving licenses and the immobilization of 432 vehicles.
