This is the case with the iOS version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, even a remaster of a GameCube game from 2003, which then ported mobile platforms. In all versions of the game, including Switch, PlayStation 4 and Android, the player could buy costumes for his character to imitate other final fantasy references throughout the series. In the mobile versions, in-app purchases were also able to upgrade the player from the demo to the full version of the game. The latest changes to this in-app purchase model have turned out without giving the buyers their claims after the purchase, and not Square-Enix says you can’t repair it.
“The problem is on changes to the in-app purchase model,” says the official website of the Final Fantasy series. “Further investigations show that we cannot fully fix the error and that the new changes cannot fully implement, which makes it unlikely to resume the service for the game. Therefore, we have to regret that we end the support for the iOS version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. “
Square Enix states that this error has only been reported since the last week of January. Refunds for players who have exceeded the error to complete purchases are available within a certain purchase period.
It is a rough lesson for Square Enix, considering that it is probably Crystal chronicles on iOS that costs some money for the port. It can also be an important lesson to convey to the rest of the industry: the little things can still crash the sky if they are not treated with the greatest care.
