Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou says the club wants to ensure captain Son Heung-min wins a trophy with the club after extending his stay until the summer of 2026.
Spurs face Liverpool on Wednesday in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final – the last trophy they lifted in 2008.
Son was runners-up in the EFL Cup and Champions League during his stay at Tottenham and Postecoglou wants him to go one step further.
He said: “The main aim is to make sure he finishes his career here with some silverware.”
Spurs continue to be plagued by injuries but should be able to call on defender Radu Dragusin after he was substituted at half-time against Newcastle last weekend.
Dragusin – the club’s only fit full-time centre-back – is back in action after illness, with Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies all still out.

New goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is registered and could play, with the club still hoping to bolster their depleted squad this month.
Postecoglou said: “We are still trying to help the team and the players. We will be missing around ten first team players.
“It’s not easy, so we still have to try to help the group playing.”
Spurs have Rodrigo Bentancur back from suspension, but James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr are suspended.
Wingers Richarlison and Mikey Moore are back in training, and youngster Moore may also be available. Goalkeeper Fraser Forster is back in training after illness, but Guglielmo Vicario is a long-term absence.
