Rabat – The Spanish police have dismantled a human retail network in which more than 1,000 women were lured into the country under false job offers before they have forced them into sex work.

During the raids in Alicante and Murcia, the police arrested 48 people who were suspected of participating in the operation. Among them were three alleged leaders, two Colombian women and one Spanish citizen.
Officers closed three strip clubs connected to the network that had benefited from the suffering of women.
The authorities also confiscated over € 150,000 in cash and blocked bank accounts with almost € 940,000. In addition, the police 17 confiscated the properties associated with the operation.
Six of the suspects remain before the procedure. The others were released against the deposit when they were waiting for court hearing.
