Son describes Kane as ‘the best’ he has ever played with as Tottenham star opens up on his relationship with England captain
Harry Kane and Son-Heung Min are the Premier League’s most prolific duo, but it has been almost two years since they came together at Tottenham.
The England captain moved to Bayern Munich shortly after Ange Postecoglou’s arrival in north London, leaving Son the captaincy and leadership role.
Their combined goalscoring exploits are simply legendary. In 2022, they surpassed Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba’s record for most combined goals by a duo in the competition.
Kane constantly found Son with perfectly timed through balls, taking advantage of the South Korean’s rapid pace while also scoring the goals himself.
And now the South Korean veteran has opened up about his relationship with his former number 10, putting him at the top when it comes to players he has shared the pitch with.
In an interview with TNT Sports, Son said: “I think the German league is still one of the best leagues and when we talk about Harry (Kane), I don’t have to give him any advice. For me he is the best.
“For me he’s just… the best.”

“Because he’s my friend, of course you get a few bonus points. He will always be in my top three, no matter what happens, he will always be in my top three.
“And above all, we had a great connection and played together and scored so many goals together, and yes, having a striker like that is always a dream.”
The love was certainly reciprocated. After Son reached 400 appearances for Tottenham, Kane sent a video message to Son in which he said: “Of course I was lucky enough to spend many of those appearances with you.”
While Son undoubtedly felt the impact of Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich, their mutual respect remains strong.
The partnership between Son and Kane will remain a strong memory for Spurs fans for decades to come and there may even come a time when Kane decides to return for one last dance with his former teammate.
