Son arrests male suspect who shot his parents in North Carolina
A son stepped in to stop a suspect who allegedly killed his parents. According to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, David Lever is linked to four crime scenes with three dead adults. The 55-year-old white man is charged with three open counts of murder.

PEOPLE reports this man and this woman Anthony Gribble And Paula Gribble80 or 76 and Enrique Reyes64, died. The Gribble’s son held Lever at gunpoint until police arrived on scene and arrested him on Friday, January 10. Without his son’s actions, David Lever might have killed even more people, Sheriff Paul Dance said in an interview with the press. An investigation revealed that there were at least 50 guns in Lever’s home and plenty of ammunition in his van.
Police describe the timeline of the male suspect’s shootings
The suspect apparently went on a killing spree on Friday. David Lever’s timeline is somewhat unclear as surveillance footage shows him leaving his home around 1:28 p.m. Around the same time, Enrique Reyes was returning home from shopping at a nearby Food Lion. Reyes lives on the same street as David.
Less than 20 minutes after Lever left his home, he allegedly fired shots as he exited a Speedway gas station. At 2:17 p.m., police received a call that Lever had killed the Gribbles and was arrested. Then, at 2:50 p.m., police received a report of shots fired into an empty home. Later, Around 3:35 p.m., police sent an ambulance to Reyes’ home after a 911 caller saw him lying in the drivewayaccording to ABC 12 (WCTI).
Investigators ultimately linked Lever to all of the crime scenes. However, it is still unclear whether he knew Reyes personally. As for the Gribbles, the 55-year-old was reportedly their real estate agent when they bought a home in 2014. David will return to court on January 29th.
