Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co -owner of Manchester United, says that some players in the club are “not good enough” and “overpaid” when he announced that the club will pay for players that he inherited this summer.
Ratcliffe spent over 1 billion pounds To shop in the club and is responsible for football businesses in Old Trafford.
He supervised a campaign that included the dismissal of Erik Ten Hag and the attitude of Ruben Amorim – but United had a terrible season.
Amorim’s team is the 14th in the Premier League.
The BBC told Ratcliffe: “If you look at the players we buy this summer that we have not bought, we buy Antony, we buy Casemiro, we buy Andre Onana, we buy Rasmus Hojlund, we buy Jadon Sancho. These are all things from the past, whether we like it or not, we have inherited these things and have to sort out.
“For Sancho, who is now playing for Chelsea and we pay half of his wages, we pay £ 17 million to buy it in summer.
“Some are not good enough and others are probably overpaid, but so that we will take time for the squad for which we are fully responsible and for which we are responsible.
“We have this transformation time, in which we switch from the past to the future.
“As we know, there are some great players in the squad, the captain is a fabulous footballer. We definitely need Bruno Fernandes, he is a fantastic footballer. “
Sancho scored 12 goals for United, but fell under ten HAG and spent the second half of the last season in the former Club Borussia Dortmund before he came to Chelsea last summer.
