Kirk Franklin apologizes after facing backlash over his outfit choice and dance moves at a concert in Jamaica. In case you missed it, Kirk took the stage back in April, rocking a tank top and shorts to stay cool in the island heat. Now the gospel titan is apologizing to anyone who was offended by his clothing and dancing style.

Kirk Franklin addresses the backlash to Jamaica’s performance

Kirk Franklin addressed some of the 2024 controversies in a video he shared on Instagram. The full clip is available on his YouTube. In the footage, Franklin apologized for his decisions and reflected on the biggest moments of his year.

According to the report, he also addressed the backlash he received from his performance at the “Fun in the Son” concert in Jamaica Christian contribution. In the clip, Franklin said he didn’t expect his outfit to offend anyone given the hot weather and he didn’t think it would seem “disrespectful,” but it did.

“I have spent most of my career dancing, moving and jumping on stage. I didn’t know I would ever do anything that would offend anyone in any community, but it did. And for that I sincerely apologize,” Franklin said.

The “I Smile” musician apologized again and again and sincerely said that he will always remain humble and open to people and their concerns.

“I sincerely apologize because I never want to get to a point where I can’t learn, where I can’t learn what I need to do better, what I can do differently to make sure I grow as a man. “Physically or in any way, that I am always humble enough and submissive enough to listen to people and their concerns that something is bigger than the message of Jesus,” Kirk continued.
