Mikaela Shiffrin is 100 percent the best in the World Cup history book of skiing.
Shiffrin’s record-injured 100th career World Cup race on Sunday fulfilled a search for a serious crash in November.
Back to the race in her preferred slalom event, Shiffrin held and added to her first line of 0.61 seconds before Zrinka Ljutic in Sestriere. Shiffrin’s US team colleague Paula Moltzan was third and 0.64 back.

American Mikaela Shiffrin won the women’s slalom race in the Sestriere ski area in Turin, Italy, to win her 100th world champion victory. It is also her 155th World Cup podium that connects the brand defined by the Swedish Great Innemar Stenmark.
The 29-year-old Shiffrin also banded a record for men and women when her 155th career top-3 reached the Swedish Great Ingemar Stenmark on the podium.
Shiffrin crossed the finish line and looked a long look at the scoreboard that showed her victory – what she later said she couldn’t find. She then looked over her left shoulder again with an expression of astonishment.
She laid her right hand on the snow to her helmet and was helped by Moltzan, who hugged her, on her feet.

Shiffrin cried first when he was asked in an interview after the race what it meant after she had gone through everything in the past few months.
“Everyone was so nice and so supportive. I am so grateful, thank you,” she said, adding that it was “just a great day in the middle of a few really hard months.
“In the past few weeks I have asked myself so often whether it is the right thing to come back,” said Shiffrin, who had been a distant 10th place in a slalom on January 30th in Cookchevel, France.

Ali Nullmeyer from Toronto achieved her best result of the season and took 11th place as a top Canadian with a time of 1:51:92 – 1.59 seconds of speed.
Laurence St-Germain by Saint-Ferréol-les-Neeiges, Que., Was 27th among the 30 skiers who ended both runs, and dead 1: 53.32.

Ali Nullmeyer took the slalom race of the World Cup in the women’s World Cup race in the Sestriere ski area in Turin, Italy.
Shiffrin and Stenmark are the two biggest records in the 58-year history of the World Cup.
“It is much better than me. You can’t compare,” said Stenmark in an interview with the Associated Press two years ago.
His record of 86 World Cup victories was broken by Shiffrin in March 2023, almost 34 years after his last victory. Stenmarks 86th victory – a huge slalom in Aspen, Colorado in February 1989 – was also his 155th and last panel result.
In six starts, Shiffrin agreed to Stenmarks with top 3 results. Sunday was their 278th World Cup race and Stenmarks the last podium was in its 284th place, according to the Ski-db.com site.
Shiffrin’s absence means that she is unlikely to her eight career titles in the Slalom World Cup World Cup World Cup World Cup Slalom classification. Even with 100 racing points on Sunday, it is only sixth and behind two races with two races, March 9 in Aare, Sweden and on March 27th in Sun Valley.
“I’m really glad that I have to be here today,” said 21-year-old Ljutic about Shiffrin’s century. “She fought so hard.”

Moltzan’s fifth career podium at the World Cup followed a bronze medal in the world in the giant slalom during her career year at the age of 30.
“I just wanted to risk everything and see how it was going on,” said Moltzan, who is worthwhile with a few vacation days in London.
