Severe earthquake shakes Pacific island of Vanuatu, bodies spotted on street

A devastating magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck off the coast of Vanuatu’s main island of Efate, severely damaging Port Vila and destroying the ground floor of a building housing the U.S. and French embassies. Casualties and extensive destruction were reported, including visible bodies in the streets, according to the US Geological Survey and eyewitness accounts.
