Senegal: In Ousmane Sonko’s general policy statement for 2050, the prime minister wants to repeal Macky Sall’s amnesty law

Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko addressed the National Assembly this Friday to present the government’s general policies. Sonko outlined key reforms such as tackling unemployment and migration, guided by Vision 2050, which now serves as the executive roadmap for public policies in the country. He also said his government would introduce legislation to repeal the controversial law that granted former President Macky Sall an amnesty for three years of political violence that led to dozens of deaths.
