Security: Morocco and Spain strengthen their common front against terrorism

The general director of national security and territory surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, received this Wednesday in Rabat, Brigadier General Luis Peláez Piñeiro, head of the information manager at the Spanish civil guard, on an official visit with a high safety delegation. This is his first trip abroad since his appointment.

This meeting is part of the strengthening of Moroccan-Spanish strategic relationships in the security area, with the fight against terrorism, the cross-border organized crime and emerging threats to emphasize in conflict areas, especially in the Sahel. The two parties welcomed the success of the joint operations already carried out and agreed to intensify their cooperation.

The discussions also focused on the security coordination around the 2030 World Cup, which was organized jointly by Morocco, Spain and Portugal. This partnership testifies a common vision to expect risks to strengthen regional security and consolidate an effective model of southern northern cooperation.
