Projects with a global investment of more than 126 million dirhams are planned in 2025 by the Hydraulikbeckens agency in Sebou (Abhs) to strengthen the management of water resources.
These projects relate to the maintenance and protection of hydraulic systems for dams (59 mdh), the monitoring and evaluation of hydraulic resources (21.5 mdh), the mobilization of groundwater and surface (21 mdh) as well as the planning and treatment of water resources (7 mdh).
An envelope of 6 mDH will be dedicated to the development of the 2025-2030 action plan for the integrated management of hydraulic resources on the Sebou basin scale. The agency also plans to modernize its computer systems (8 mdh) and strengthen its internal capacities (8.4 mdh).
During the last board of directors of the agency, which was held in Fez under the chair of the equipment minister and water, Nizar Baraka, battles against water pollution, the management of water resources, the development of public hydraulic domains and the fight against floods were passed.
The Sebou basin, which has 12 large dams and 51 small barracks and hill lakes, covers about 40,000 km² with an average annual precipitation of 600 mm. It comprises 316 municipalities that have been spread over 18 provinces and three regions: FEZ-Meknès, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Tanger-Touan-Al Hceima.
