Rural tourism: a project to promote 16 villages

The Moroccan Ministry of Tourism is initiating a 188 million DH project to promote 16 tourist villages as part of its 2023-2026 strategy.

In collaboration with the Moroccan Society of Tourist Engineering (SMIT), this project aims to promote rural tourism, create sustainable jobs but also support local socio-economic development.

The villages, divided into four geographical zones, will benefit from infrastructure improvements, adapted accommodation and cultural activities. It has partnered with international players such as Club Med and Marriott to provide their expertise.

The program includes a targeted marketing strategy to attract tourists looking for authentic experiences while diversifying the tourist offer through gastronomic tours, cultural festivals and the promotion of local crafts.
