Ronaldo is open to a new challenge as his contract with Al Nassr is about to expire
Cristiano Ronaldo could face a new challenge after helping boost the Saudi Pro League. The Portuguese football star, whose contract with Al Nassr expires in June 2025, is reportedly open to new opportunities in the coming season.
Accordingly MarkRonaldo is “open to new challenges” next year and has the opportunity to negotiate with clubs outside the Saudi Pro League from January 1. The 38-year-old is yet to complete a contract extension with Al Nassr.
Ronaldo has made it clear that he has no intention of leaving the Riyadh-based club without securing a league title. However, there is still a possibility that he will pursue a new “project” in another league before retiring.
The former Manchester United striker, who turns 40 in February, is not yet thinking about retiring. He is focused on reaching the milestone of 1,000 career goals and has shown that he can remain in top form until the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“I’m turning 40, but I’m not done yet. I want to score more goals and continue winning with the national team. I will keep going,” said Ronaldo.
Ronaldo joined United in August 2021 after successful stints at Juventus and Real Madrid. While he was past his prime and playing for a struggling team, he scored 24 goals in 39 appearances in his first season at United. However, a dispute with coach Erik ten Hag led to Ronaldo leaving United for a second time in November 2022.
Now at Al Nassr, Ronaldo continues to shine. He was recently named the best player in the Middle East and the greatest striker of all time at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai.
Ronaldo will return to action in January when Al Nassr, currently third in the Saudi Pro League standings, take on Al-Okhdood. As the countdown to his contract expires, the football world is eagerly awaiting his next move.
