The US health secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. appointed eight members on Wednesday to work in an important panel of vaccine consultants after they had fired all 17 -seated members of the independent expert body.
You will sit in the US centers for the control of the diseases and the advisory committee for immunization practices (ACIP) of prevention. Eight is the legally permissible minimum number.
Four of the new members have previously worked in Committees, which are either associated with the CDC, the Food and Drug Administration or both.
Kennedy appointed Joseph R. Hibbeln, Martin Kulldorff, Retsef Levi, Robert W. Malone, Cody Meissner, James Pagano, Vicky Pbsworth and Michael A. Ross.
Meissner and PEFSWORTH put together in the FDA vaccines and in the associated advisory committee for biological products, and Meissner previously worked in ACIP.
Kulldorff is the architect of the Great Barrington Declaration, which required a easier reaction to public health to Covid-19 in October 2020 and previously worked in a subgroup for ACIP vaccine security group.
“All of these people undertake for evidence-based medicine, gold standard science and common sense,” said Kennedy in a contribution about X.
Kennedy said that the new members would have undertaken to request final security and effectiveness data before submitting new vaccine recommendations.
Kennedy, who has long contradicted the security of vaccines in contradiction to scientific evidence, claimed that the previous members of the committee, many of whom were appointed by President Joe Biden, had conflicts of interest, without providing evidence of certain membership conflicts. He said the step was to “restore the public’s trust in vaccine science”.
The US Minister of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has removed every member of a scientific committee that advises the centers for the control and prevention of diseases. According to Dr. Isaac Bogoch, specialist in infectious diseases, lacks the move transparency and the risk of undermining the public’s trust in vaccines.
The members of the committee said that their ACIP work was strict review of their financial ties and they have to do without votes about any vaccine for which they have a conflict.
Numerous groups of doctors have taken care of and suspected Kennedy’s unprecedented removal of all former members of the committee.
The American Medical Association, the largest doctor group in the country, has requested an investigation by the Senate in its release and sent Kennedy a letter in which an immediate reversal of the changes was requested.
