Marcus Rashford reacts to his Manchester derby loss by admitting an Old Trafford exit could play a big role.
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is ready for a new challenge as he continues to be linked with a move away from the Premier League club.
On Sunday, United beat Manchester City 2-1But Rashford was ruled out of the trip to the Etihad along with Alejandro Garnacho as new coach Ruben Amorim said his decision was about demanding high standards from his players.
This led to media reports that United wanted to sell the England striker, who has been with United since he was seven, and the 27-year-old spoke about the issue when he visited his old school to hand out Christmas presents.
“I personally think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” Rashford told football journalist Henry Winter on Tuesday night when asked whether he would stay or leave United.
“If I leave, there will be no hard feelings. You won’t get any negative comments from me about Manchester United. This is me as a person.
“If I know a situation is already bad, I won’t make it worse. I’ve seen other players leave in the past and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave, I will make a statement, and it will be from myself.”

Rashford has scored three goals since taking over from Amorim last month, but was sent off in the 56th minute of last week’s 2-1 Europa League win over Viktoria Plzen, with fans booing the striker as he left the pitch left.
The player has not yet regained the form that saw him score 30 goals across all competitions in the 2022/23 season, but he believes the best is still ahead of him.
“I’m halfway through my career. “I don’t expect to have reached my peak now,” said Rashford.
“I have been in the Premier League for nine years so far and have learned a lot from that. This helped me grow as a player and as a person.
“So I don’t regret the last nine years. I won’t have any regrets in the future because I take things one day at a time and sometimes bad things happen, sometimes good things happen.”
