Jamie Carragher was impressed as Jacob Ramsey scored his first league goal since September 2023 to give Aston Villa an eighth-minute lead at home to West Ham on Sunday.
Ramsey completed a forced two-two with Ollie Watkins 3-0 Champions League win for boys.

Villa v West Ham: Watkins contested
Villa thought they had scored a second on the same left two minutes later when Morgan Rogers tapped in Watkins’ pass.
The Three Lions striker was adjudged offside, granting West Ham a comeuppance and denying Watkins a 101st Direct Premier League goal involvement.
After a hot start, the Hammers improved after giving up that disappointment in their quest for revenge their defeat in the villa on January 10th.
On this occasion, Lucas Paqueta gave them a surprise advantage in Graham Potter’s first in charge.
Amadou Onana, who was ruled out of Villa’s recent meeting with West Ham by injury, responded before Rogers produced the winner.

Premier League Table
West Ham have played at the London Stadium twice since then. They won 3-2 against Fulham and lost 2-0 against Crystal Palace on 18 January.
These results have left them 14th in the table, 10 points above the relegation zone and seven shy of the top half with the worst defensive record above the bottom four.
Villa began the day in the eighth, helped by a run of six wins and four draws in their last 10 home events, although Lost 1-0 in Monaco on Tuesday.
A third win in a five-game league run would get them One point behind Bournemouth and Chelseaand two behind fourth place Manchester City.
