On the first day of the month of Ramadan, the fish offer improved considerably on the Lahhraouyine fat market in Casablanca, while demand increases during this period. According to official data, the market received more than 720 tons of fish around 522 tons in the previous year. The offer remains dominated by sardines with 364 tons against 87 tons in the previous Ramadan.
This data was published during a visit to the State Secretary for Maritime Fisheries Zakia Driouich on Sunday in the wholesale of fishing. In a press release on this occasion, the minister said that seafood, especially sardines, are available in large quantities and at reasonable prices at the fat fish market in Lahhraouyine in Casablanca, which covers more than 65% of the kingdoms’ markets.
She praised experts in the industry for considerable efforts to ensure the offer of the national markets. She continued the offer of Sardinen, although this variety of fish in a time in which the period, February, February and March left biological break, mainly covers demand.
With regard to the prices, Zakia Drioouch explained that the market depends on supply and demand and indicates that the ministry mission is to preserve fishing and its availability in the markets that it has achieved thanks to the “Halieutis” strategy.
