Ramadan in Malaysia is scheduled to begin on March 1st

Rabat – The first day of St. Ramadan 2025 will fall in Malaysia on March 1st, according to early astrological projections.

Ramadan is the ninth Month of the Islamic calendar. Since the Islamic calendar is Lunar, the month falls on different days of the Gregorian calendar.

About 60% of the population of Malaysia are Muslims. This corresponds to about 20 million people from a total population.

The sacred month in 35 million land feels very special. It’s not just about fasting, but also about the way people get together. In the cities you can see the streets with colorful lights illuminated, and there is an entire atmosphere of excitement in the air.

The Eat This month is amazing. For bazaars during the Ramadan (the Ramadan markets) you will find so many different dishes – from spicy “Satay” to sweet desserts such as “Kuih” (traditional sweets). The variety is delicious.

The sense of community is really strong. Families meet for “Buka Puasa” in the evening (fasting) and it is a big deal. You will often see large meetings, divided with food among friends and neighbors. The mosques are full and there is this feeling of peace and reflection. People also take the time to return something by donating the needy.

One thing that stands out is how much joy there is in small moments. The Ramadan in Malaysia feels so full of warmth and friendliness. It is definitely a month in which people feel connected, regardless of their background.
