Royal Air Maroc (RAM) takes important steps in relation to the green transition. The national company initiated the gradual replacement of vehicles that roll with thermal motors with fully electric cars. This process has already made it possible for the company to provide almost 200 electric vehicles (compact and supply type) from Leader Rental, a subsidiary of Auto Hall Group, as part of long -term rental contracts (LLD). It enables RAM to become the first Moroccan company with a 100% electric car fleet.
This first phase of this project therefore enables the airline to equip the airline, but also the airport service company, the RAM handling and the RAM Express subsidiary. “ This transition now enables the Royal Air Maroc Group to ensure a reduction in the size of 400 tons per year of CO2 footprint, while the operating performance improves and the costs associated with the management of the park »says the national company.
The RAM Group’s electric car fleet is distributed via the national company’s headquarters in Casablanca and several airports: Casablanca, Rabat, Oujda, Fès, Agadir, Marrakech, Dakhla, Laâyoune, Al Hceima, Tetouch, Temidia, Esouira, Tangier and Nador. The company will have airport aid vehicles in a second phase.
The CEO of the Hamid Addou company praised the realization of one of the main goals of the RAM as part of the fight against global warming. “This important action is online with our CSR obligations that we will continue and strengthen to achieve our carbonutality goal by 2050.”he underlines. Note that the company also installed 70 charging stations at the various locations
worried, a majority of which are supplied with solar energy.
