The Ministry of Digital Transition and the UNDP signed on Tuesday in Rabat, a declaration of intent to establish an Arab-African regional digital hub, which focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) and technological innovation.
This project called “Morocco Digital for Sustainable Development Hub” is part of the “Digital for Sustainable Development” initiative and aims to strengthen the South South Corporation, to integrate AI into public services and to train digital managers, especially in young people and women.
The minister responsible for the digital transition and reform of the administration, Amal El Fallah Siehrouchni, said that Morocco’s commitment to use digitally as a lever for common progress, with the support of several ministries.
Abdallah al Dardari, the director of the regional office of the Arab states of the UNDP, praised the role of the Morocco leadership in the digital area and his status as a pioneer in relation to AI.
This hub, which will open in September during the General Assembly of the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations, will serve as a platform for sustainable digital solutions in various sectors and thus strengthen the position of Morocco as an innovation center in the region.
