On Friday, a memorandum of understanding between the state and the national society of motorways from Morocco (ADM) was signed in Rabat on Friday. This agreement includes the period 2025-2032 and concerns the implementation of three strategic projects: the Autobahn Continental Rabat-Casablanca, the Mellil-Berrechid motorway and the transformation of the nodes of Ain Harrouda and Sidi Maarouf. This program aims to improve the fluidity of traffic and to strengthen regional connectivity, especially with the perspective of the 2030 World Cup.
The Signing Took Place in the Presence of the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, The Minister Delegate in Charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, The Director General of the National Strategic Management of State Participations, Abdellatif Zaghnoun, the Director General of Adm, Mohammed Cherkaoui Eddeqaqi, and the Director General of the Caisse de Dépôt and Management (CDG) Safir. This financial mobilization is part of a responsible approach that aims to maintain ADM’s life capability and to limit the use of the state budget.
In addition, a 1.2 billion dirham financing protocol for the expropriation of the country required for the construction of the Continental Rabat-Casablanca motorway was completed. This 60 km long section connects the Rabat -Bypass -Autobahn directly from the Ain Atiq Bifurcation on the Casablanca bypass Highway in Tit Mellil. The overall investment for this project is 6.5 billion dirhams.
The ADM showed that the expropriation procedures are underway and that the labor markets are in advanced phase for the different lot of the project. This strategic initiative shows the state’s commitment to the development of the motorway infrastructure and to strengthen mobility throughout the kingdom.
