Princess Lalla Asmaa Chairs Start of an initiative for deaf children


Rabat – Princess Lalla Asmaa was now chairman of the starting room of a program in favor of children with hearing impaired and deaf children.

The initiative, which was inaugurated in Rabat at the IBN Sina University Hospital Center today, tries to restore 100 children from 17 African and envious east, including Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.

The princess Started the ceremony in its capacity as President of Lalla Asmaa Foundation For deaf and hearing impaired.

As part of the vision of King Mohammed VI to increase the South South cooperation, the initiative is implemented in Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech and FEZ.

It includes Cochlea implant operations for deaf children and training for audio specialists and therapists from the participant countries.

The initiative also aims to improve the quality of life of hearing -impaired and deaf children and to build a medical network that devotes itself to the auditorial rehabilitation in Africa and the Middle East.

The program also covers a dissection of a real human temporal bone for the first time in Morocco.

As part of the program, Princess Lalla Asmaa visited children who benefit from the initiative in the presence of ambassadors from different countries.

She Also presided by the signing ceremony of three agreements, including one that would like to strengthen the infrastructure of diagnostic and auditorial rehabilitation centers.

One of the agreements is also aimed at financially supporting the expansion of the program, while the third deal wants to facilitate cooperation with partner countries.
