Pope Francis opened the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican on Christmas Eve to usher in the 2025 anniversary. By passing through the Holy Door, Catholics can receive a “plenary indulgence” for their sins. The door remains open all year round to welcome an estimated 30 million pilgrims.
