People consider chatbots increasingly as friends – but maybe not their smartest friend, find new research results

New research at Stanford University shows that Americans are increasingly describing AI chatbots as a human friend or companion. At the same time, your confidence in the competence of these chatbots decreases somewhat paradoxically. The study raises critical questions of how Chatbot interfaces should be designed in such a way that they may discourage anthropomorphism.
