Last Sunday and Monday we had our first heavy rain of the season, over 2 inches total. There were a few more showers on Tuesday, but I was able to squeeze in an easy 30 minute drive. Later that day I took a quick ride on my Upright. I also did a hard upper body workout that day that felt good. As part of these training sessions, I do a lot of strength training for the back and hip areas. I want to strengthen all of the stabilizing muscles so there is less chance of a sciatica flare-up.
Yesterday it was sunny and clear and I did a 70 minute recumbent bike ride and then 50 minutes on the recumbent bike. I threw in 8 intervals of brisk standing riding. This is a good way to get your heart rate up without putting too much strain on your glutes, which are still a bit sore from my recent adventures.
