Openai extends its footprint to Germany. After a press release The Chatgpt Maker will be exhibited on Friday and plans to open an office in Munich in the coming months.
“Germany is known for its technical expertise, its academic excellence and its industrial innovation,” said Sam Altman, CEO of Openaai. “Opening of our first office in Germany means that we can help more people, companies and institutions to benefit from the possibilities of AI.”
According to the press release, Openaai has been discussing a German satellite office with German officials since 2023. According to startup, Germany has the largest number of users, paying subscribers and API developers, which build on Openais technology.
An Openai spokesman informed Techcrunch by email that the office will set the start of market launches, global matters and communication roles. They refused to exchange details about the number of roles.
The new home of Openai in southern Germany takes place after the company based in San Francisco in Paris, Brussels and Dublin, which has expanded its EU presence.
