On Friday I was traveling with my lying one for a long trip and happened to look at my front wheel and noticed a broken spokes. The bike appeared in good enough shape, not too bad “out of true” and was still rideable. So I went home and changed bicycles to complete the journey on my upright race. Later I looked at the bike well and found that it actually had 5 broken spokes. Everything broke at the J-Bend, where the spoke comes out of the hub. I was surprised because I had never spoken more than one and usually also gives an audible ping. This is my front wheel with the electric motor, so that the spokes of the engine and the impact, e.g. B. from potholes, a torque are subjected. It had worked well for over a year, so I assume that I have hit something pretty big recently. I ordered replacement spokes from Amazon and was pleased to find out that you can get in custom lengths so that I could order the right size. I will repair the bike when you come in and bring it back onto the street. I will try to stay on smoother roads in the future.
In the meantime, I can still drive upright if I want electrical support and I have the original bike back on the lying one. The timing is random. I wasn’t upright with mine since I recovered from my last sciatica. So my butt was hurt on longer trips on the upright trips. On an ultramarathon -cycling -website -an amusing term came to: “Marshmallow butt”. I have to resume my butt, from “Marshmallow” to “iron”, because in May I go to Paso Robles for a few days after cycling in a friend, and my lying will not fit, so I will be upright. I will make sure that I put more saddle time in the foreground on the upright templates.
