Netflix released a new video on Instagram on Friday to promote the streamer’s new film, starring “Back in Action.” Jamie Foxx And Cameron Diaz. The action film will stream on Netflix from January 17th.
In the video, Foxx can be seen playing a baby grand piano and bellowing “Back in Action” while Diaz dances along in a fabulous pinstriped strapless pantsuit.
The post was captioned: “Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx remember their friendship musically. BACK IN ACTION premieres January 17th.”

Diaz and Foxx have worked together before and have been friends for 25 years. They played their first leading role together in the 1999 sports film “Any Given Sunday”. Al Pacino. The duo also starred together in the 2014 remake of “Annie.”
“People don’t even realize how long we’ve been friends,” Foxx said. “True. Because we were in ‘Any Given Sunday’ together, so in 1999,” Diaz replied.
“And now we’re back in action, baby,” she added.
Foxx began improvising a song about the Netflix film, singing: “Back in action, and we were friends since before Apple started making the iPod, and now they make the iPhone and not the iPod,” he joked.

Jamie Foxx jokes about Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg
As Foxx continued singing about the Netflix film, he managed to joke about the rapper Snoop Dogg and his friendship with the lifestyle guru, Martha Stewart. Stewart became good friends with the “Gin and Juice” artist after meeting on her cooking show “The Martha Stewart Show” in 2008.
Foxx continued playing the piano while Diaz said, “Tell them what else happened, Jamie.” The “Ray” actor sang his response.
“What else happened was that Martha Stewart got really into weed and became best friends with her Snoooooooooop.” Snoop Dogg is known for his love of marijuana, and a puff of smoke appeared on camera as Diaz noted what else had happened since 1999.

Cameron Diaz directed four “Shrek” films
The song continued as Diaz recalled making four “Shrek” films. Diaz played Princess Fiona in the animated films.
“I did four Shrek movies,” she said. “We also did ‘Annie’ together,” Foxx said, while Diaz added, “That’s true.”
“And we’ve been through so much,” Foxx continued. “We’ve experienced Keyboard Cat, Pizza Rat, NFTs, DVDs, Corn Kid, Bean Dad, Salt Bae, Left Shark, Pink Sauce, Grimace Shake and ‘The Dress’.”
“Oh yeah, that was white and gold,” Diaz said as Foxx hit a high note and sang, “I thought it was black and.” bluuuuuuu.”
Diaz continued, “And now we’re back together for another movie and I’m just so excited.”
“Yes. Because…” Foxx replied before singing, “We’re back in Actionion.’”

Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz play ex-spies in Netflix film
Accordingly PEOPLEIn the film, Foxx and Diaz play a married couple who formerly worked for the Central Intelligence Agency.
After starting a family, the former spies are “drawn back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown.” The trailer shows the duo in a fiery scene at a gas station.
“Okay, you know I love our life,” said Diaz’s character, Emily. Matt, Foxx’s character, responded, “But?”
“It clicked tonight,” she added as a scene was shown showing the couple fighting the two men.
“For the first time in a long time I felt alive again. I felt like the bastard again,” she continued.
In the trailer, the couple also explains to their children that they are former CIA agents, prompting one of their children to ask, “Like Jason Bourne?”

Jamie Foxx suffered a stroke while filming the Netflix film
In April 2023, Foxx was in Atlanta filming scenes from Back in Action when he developed a headache. He started asking a friend for an aspirin before passing out.
Foxx revealed In his Netflix special, “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…”, he explained the nature of his health crisis, saying that he suffered a brain hemorrhage that led to a stroke. He underwent immediate surgery and remained unconscious for 20 days. When he woke up he couldn’t walk.
The Oscar winner recovered in a rehab facility in Chicago and learned to walk again. He said in his special that comedy helped him heal. “If I can stay funny, I can stay alive.”
