The Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports presented on Saturday January 25, 2025 the conclusions of the joint working meetings with the five most representative unions in the education sector, dedicated to the examination of the various dossiers in this sector.
In a press release, the ministry said that the department’s secretary general, Younes Shimi, chaired the work of the joint commission on Thursday in the presence of representatives of the National Federation of Education (FNE), in which the ministry and the unions concerned represented – UMT), the National Education Union (SNE-CDT), the Free Education Federation (FLE-UGTM), the National Education Federation (FNE Tendance Démocratique) and the National Education Union Teaching (SNE-FDT).
The meeting focused on examining files related to the situation of substitute teachers (previous), non-formal educational intermediaries and assignment decision holders (previous), as well as teachers in units under “Madrassa.com,” the ministry emphasizes. The unions expressed expectations and demands regarding these files “to continue their examination and make progress”.
On Friday, the General Secretary of the Department also chaired a working session in the presence of representatives of the five unions and the managers concerned, within the framework of the implementation of the obligations arising from the agreements of December 10 and 26, 2023 and in application of the provisions on the status of civil servants of the National Education System. According to the same source, a number of points related to economic and administrative managers were raised at this meeting, in particular the functions assigned to this category, as well as aspects related to their professional career, mobility and working conditions.
The general secretary of the ministry also held another meeting on Friday in the presence of representatives of the trade unions concerned. The work focused on the methods of organizing the recruitment competition for secondary teachers qualifying for the 1st grade, as well as the file for educational and social professionals, as well as the file for the promotion of the elective class for the category of school administrators.
The various parties have agreed to set the date of Saturday, February 22, 2025, for the holding of the recruitment competition for secondary teachers for grade 1, open to all civil servants holding a master’s degree or have acquired a State Engineering Diploma or equivalent qualification.
Other commonalities: the examination of the different requirements and expectations in connection with the file of educational and social professionals (work equipment, clarification of functions, etc.).
The participants of these meetings will also determine the number of school principals affected by the support of the elective class for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023 and will continue the examination of this file with the ministries concerned, according to the guardianship.
