The growth of the economy slowed down in the last quarter of last year. The decree of the national accounts of the 4th quarter of 2024 shows a slowdown of the growth of the economy in 3.7% instead of 4.2% in the same quarter of the previous year and shows that the high commission for plan (HCP). In detail, farm activities did not show an increase of 4.4% and that in the agricultural sector by 4.9%.
“This growth, which is mainly due to domestic demand, has registered in a context that is characterized by mastery of inflation and a deterioration in the need to finance the economy,” said HCP. Thus, the added value of the volume, which corrected for seasonal variations, recorded a decline of 4.7% in the 4th quarter of 2024 compared to a decrease of 0.1% in the same period of the previous year.
The added value of the secondary sector also slowed down from 6.9% in the same quarter of the previous year to 4.9% in the 4th quarter of 2024. Finally, the added value of the tertiary sector reached an increase of 4.2% instead of 3.3% in the same period of 2024 and is subject to the HCP of the national configuration in the national accounts.
Overall, the added value of non -agricultural activities recorded an increase rate of 4.3% in the same quarter of last year to 4.4%. Under these conditions and taking into account the increase of 6.7% of the volume of net taxes for products for products, the volume of gross domestic product (GDP) recorded economic growth of 3.7% instead of 4.2% in the previous year.
