Morocco sends 272 religious leaders for Ramadan 2025 Support abroad


Doha – As every year, the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans who live abroad mobilizes religious leaders to support Moroccan communities in North America and Europe.

This year is the foundation Provision 272 religious leaders from February 27 to April 1 to offer spiritual leadership and cultural activities throughout the holy month.

The delegation includes a diverse group of qualified religious scholars and leaders, including 38 university professors, 39 preachers with promotions, 44 with Master degrees and 60 with Bachelor.

In addition, 60 preachers perform both sermons and Koran, while 31 imams lead Tarawih prayers.

The distribution of these religious leaders in 13 countries reflects the concentration of Moroccan communities abroad, with France receiving the largest contingent of 75 preachers.

Other important assignments are 40 in Germany, 38 in Spain, 33 each in the Netherlands and Belgium, 27 in Italy, 10 in Canada and 6 in the United States. Smaller delegations serve in Sweden (4), England (2), Norway (2) and each in Hungary and Iceland.

The initiative is part of the long -time Hassan II Foundation engagement to maintain cultural and spiritual connections with Moroccan expatriates.

The foundation was founded in 1990 by the late King Hassan II and is currently led by Princess Lalla Meryem, and acts as a non -profit institute with legal status and financial autonomy.

Since 1992 it has been supporting associations and mosques in organizing various activities, including seminars and coran recitation competitions for children.

This program corresponds to the broader religious diplomacy Morocco EffortsThese include initiatives such as the Mohammed VI institute for the training of imams and the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema.

The foundation will present the detailed program at a meeting in Rabat on February 25th. 50 members of the delegation are expected.

The Hassan II Foundation works with over 700 employees of more than 600 abroad and continues their mission to help Moroccan Expatriates to maintain basic relationships with their homeland and at the same time tackle the challenges in connection with their emigration.

The strategic importance of the foundation is legally recognized, with the conclusion of organic law of delegated president according to Articles 49 and 92 of the constitution.
