Rabat – Morocco has exceeded 90% of local communities in its urban planning strategy. 1,341 of 1,503 municipalities that are now active under approved urban planning documents.
According to the Minister of National Planning Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, this achievement has significant economic effects because it supports better land management, promotes investments and leads sustainable development across the country.

In 2024 alone, the authorities checked 73,000 applications for building permit, 42,345 of which were approved. This wave of urban development not only changes the built environment, but also contributes directly to this economically Expansion.
With state-supported housing support programs, more than 20,000 applications approved, supported access to ownership and generated around 60,000 jobs in the construction sector of the country’s most important employment drivers.
Minister El Mansouri emphasized a paradigm shift in urban governance, which now emphasizes the flexibility and facilitating investments.
