Morocco-Portugal: strengthened judicial cooperation for CDM 2030


Morocco and Portugal signed a memorandum of understanding in Lisbon on Friday to strengthen legal development in anticipation of the 2030 World Cup. to ensure an effective legal framework for the organization of this international event.

This declaration aims to facilitate access to justice for all parties involved, digitize legal processes and strengthen the skills of professionals in this sector through dedicated training. It also provides alternative mechanisms for resolving conflicts related to organizational and commercial aspects of the World Cup.

The two ministers emphasized the importance of this cooperation in strengthening legal certainty and transparency, key elements for the success of the most important international events. They also mentioned the possibility of extending this cooperation to Spain within the framework of the joint organization of the World Cup.

This bilateral commitment, which will remain in force until 2030, reflects the two countries’ willingness to modernize their judicial systems and adopt innovative practices to ensure the smooth operation of the competition. This meeting also made it possible to explore the prospects of a permanent judicial partnership between Morocco and Portugal.
