Doha – Former Moroccan international defender Mohcine Buhlal died on Saturday at the age of 54 after a longer illness in Rabat.
The Royal Maroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced His death with the President of the Fouderation Fouzi Lekjaa and the Executive Committee expanded Buhlal’s family and the wider Moroccan football community.
Football associations and fans throughout Morocco, who was part of the Morocco team between 1990 and 1996, shared tribute.
Bouhlal was born on April 22, 1970 and began his football career in Union Touarga before participating in the 1988/89 season to the Rabat (Royal Armed Forces) (Royal Armed Forces) AssociationColors since then.
During his tenure with as far as possible, he secured the Moroccan championship in 1989 and called for the throne cup in the 1998/99 season. He also reached the throne cup final three times, 1990, 1996 and 1998.
In the 1990s, Buhlal represented the National team of Morocco 38 times. His international career included appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal in 1992, where he formed a remarkable defense partnership with Noureddine Naybet.
In 1992 he took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona, the Mediterranean games and qualification campaigns for the 1994 World Cup and the 1994 Africa Cup.
In his career as a military club, he also competed in the World Military Cup in 1989, 1994 and 1996. He played in the CAF Cup against Tunisia’s Étoile du Sahel in 1997.
In the past few months, Buhlal has been treated in Rabat before his death in the military hospital. During his career as a player, he received recognition for his defensive skills, with the fans pointing him after the German football legend “Beckenbauer”.
After Buhlal retired as a player, he switched to coaching and worked within the technical department of Far Fars in different age groups.
