Rabat-Alain Juillet, former intelligence director at the French General Directorate for External Security (DGSE), has praised Morocco’s efforts to combat terrorism and said that the country was always in the foreground.
He made the comments in an interview with Map News Agency today when he commented on the youngest Operation in which Morocco’s security services thwarted a very dangerous property for the country. The terrorist system was commissioned and founded by a high -ranking ISIS leader in the Sahel region.
Juillet spoke about the examinations of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (OCIJ), which led to monitoring a mountainous area that was suspected, to serve as a logistical basis for the storage of weapons and ammunition.
This page was suspected to support the members of the terrorist cell in carrying out their plans. On Wednesday, the country’s security services arrested 12 suspects aged 18 and 40 for their participation in the terrorist cell. The arrests were made in various operations in Morocco.
Juillet praised “professionalism, effectiveness and proactive capacity of the Moroccan security services”.
In view of the presence of extremist hotspots in the Sahel region, Juillet said that the proactive capacity of the security services was “very important” to prevent these members from executing their plans.
He noted that Morocco as “one of the most efficient countries in the fight against terrorism, thanks to the proactive skills of its security services and their exact knowledge of these milieus, which enables them to identify terrorist risks and threats very quickly.”
Juillet also recalled the “outstanding level” of cooperation between France and Morocco in the fight against terrorism.
“The Moroccan security services achieve very positive results, they have precise information and the recent operation proves that they were able to intervene effectively before the attacks were carried out, which is very important in the fight against terrorism,” he concluded .
