Morocco and Germany will set up a working group for close cooperation in the areas of food and agriculture. The announcement comes from the Ministry of Agriculture, Sea Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests of the Kingdom of Morocco and the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, which signed a declaration establishing this working group in Berlin on Saturday.

This joint statement was initialed by Minister of Agriculture, Sea Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, and his German counterpart, Cem Özdemir, following a bilateral meeting between the two officials on the sidelines of Green Week in Berlin (17. – January 26th).

This working group will create a structured platform that aims to strengthen existing cooperation, intensify exchanges between the two countries, consolidate existing partnerships and create an institutional framework that enables regular debate on current issues and concerns. It also aims to promote collaborative and sustainable approaches to food security, effective management of natural resources and resilience of agricultural systems in the face of global challenges. The idea is to meet every year to discuss common issues and concerns, particularly regarding food security, sustainable management of natural resources and agricultural resilience in the face of global challenges. This initiative is part of Morocco’s participation in the 89th edition of the Berlin Green Week (Green Week), in which Morocco is represented by a pavilion inaugurated on Friday by Mr. El Bouari at the head of a delegation consisting of several high-ranking Moroccan officials experts in the presence of his German counterpart Cem Özdemir.

The Moroccan Pavilion brings together 21 exhibitors from 39 cooperatives from the 12 regions of the Kingdom and offers typical Moroccan products such as argan oil and its derivatives, olive oil, saffron, dates and aromatic and medicinal plants.
