Rabat – Spain has designated Morocco as a priority region in the Spanish agency for the scholarship program of the International Development Cooperation (AECID) 2025 and provided the North African kingdom of 85 million euros.
Aecid recently unveiled The list of beneficiaries for the grant program of the next year, in which Morocco appeared as a central focus.
This considerable financial commitment signals the growing bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Spanish newspaper La Gaceta reported That the Spanish Foreign Ministry should achieve several core destinations through its Moroccan initiatives.
These embody gender -specific differences, against all forms of gender -specific violence and develop sustainable tourism that creates employment opportunities. The financing focuses on three regions, Marrakechs-Safi, Casablanca setting and Souss-Massa.
The Spain Ministry of Finance shows that Madrid has already distributed almost 250 organizations and foreign companies across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Morocco’s Ministry of the Interior Tops The list of recipients who had received almost 30 million euros in particular for the fight against illegal immigration by the end of September 2023.
The North African country has also received various other Spanish subsidies, including 225,000 euros for the nearby DAE Association of Water and electricity specialists in Tanger, 10 million euros for improvements in the coast guard, € 650,000 for the Ministry of Health and € 108,000 for the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Madrid also in January approved A 2.5 million euro package for the purchase of vehicles and equipment to strengthen the border surveillance skills of the Moroccan authorities.
This significant investment shows Spain’s strategic interest in improving the development and stability of Morocco and the recognition of the crucial role that the North African country plays for regional security, migration management and economic partnership.
