Morocco confirms his place as 1st trading partner in Spain in Africa


Morocco is the first African supplier in Spain and its main customers on the continent, said the Spanish Ministry of Economics, Trade and Companies.

This privileged relationship is based on a constantly increasing exchange volume and confirms the strategic role of Morocco in Hispano-African trade relationships and adds the department.

According to the Spanish Ministry, which was made available to the card, the Iberian neighbor is the first trading partner in Morocco within the European Union before France and Germany, both in terms of imports and in terms of exports. In total, Spanish companies have invested 1.905 billion euros in various strategic sectors in Morocco, which has generated more than 27,000 jobs.

In 2024, the Spanish exports after Morocco reached almost 13 billion euros, which confirmed an upward trend and increased the diversification of exported products. In the same year Morocco made 3.34 % of the total number of Spanish exports, whereby the 7th world customer and the first on the African continent.

The weight of Morocco in Spanish trade is particularly pronounced at the regional level, argues the ministry and finds that the Kingdom absorbs 61% of Spanish exports to Africa and 79% of the people intended for North Africa.
