Morocco and Canada have the common desire to strengthen their cooperation in the water and environmental sector, with prospects to expand the rest of the African continent. This is said by Cheryl Urban, a deputy Canadian deputy minister of Africa and global matters, after his meeting with the Moroccan Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka.
This visit aims to consolidate the strategic partnership between the two countries and to be inspired by Moroccan experience with regard to water resource management. Urban has highlighted the possibilities of cooperation to promote the exchange of specialist knowledge and technological innovations in these important areas.
For his part, Baraka recalled the importance of these stock exchanges, with the Moroccan hydraulic policy and the questions associated with sustainable water management. He also praised Canada’s technical support in the development of water and irrigation projects.
This meeting is part of a broader dynamic of bilateral cooperation, which aims to strengthen joint measures in favor of the resistance of the climate and sustainable development. Morocco and Canada thus intend to set up synergies in order to meet environmental and water challenges in the region.
