Rabat-Morocko and Palestine signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to improve cooperation in air, sea and road traffic as well as in the logistics sector.
The agreement formalized on Wednesday in Marrakech aims to strengthen the exchange of specialist knowledge and training and at the same time support the infrastructure and development of Palestine.
The Mou was signed by Abdessamad Kayouh, the Minister of Transport and Logistics in Morocco, and his counterpart Tarek Zagreb, Palestination Minister for Transport and Telecommunications.
The agreement is intended to improve the transport sector in Palestine. As part of the conditions, Morocco offers knowledge, capacity structure and technical support, especially in airport and port management, the development of road traffic and logistics services.
In air traffic it is described in the agreement that Morocco supports the reconstruction of Yasser Arafat’s international airport in Gaza, which was destroyed during her genocide in the Enclave of Israel.
Morocco will also share his specialist knowledge and support in airport and aviation training. In this sector, Morocco becomes the efforts of Palestine to join the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and a Palestinian Civil Agency Academy in cooperation with Mohammed VI. Set up international civil air academy.
In the area of maritime transport, Morocco is exchanged for specialist knowledge of the management of dealer fleets, ship safety, port operations, the crisis reaction and the search and rescue efforts. In addition, as part of the Palestine Agreement, the country will support the development of maritime regulations and the involvement of membership in the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
With regard to road traffic, the agreement covers technical support, vocational training and mutual recognition of driving license between Morocco and Palestine.
At the signing ceremony, Minister Tarek Zaghreb spoke to King Mohammed VI, the President of the Al-QuDS committee, his deep appreciation for his continued support of Palestine.
In a statement to the press, Zagreb said that the agreement, which was signed on the sidelines of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, will strengthen cooperation in transport and logistics and at the same time improve the possibilities for training and technical exchange between the two nations.
This is part of Morocco’s greater efforts to show their commitment to the Palestinian thing in a time when the country and the people are exposed to constant hostility by the Israeli occupation.
